This module consists of lectures offered by the Division of Oral Diagnosis, Oral Medicine and Oral Radiology through the Oral Medicine Externship Program. This course is designed to inform dentists of the biology, characteristics, infection patterns, clinical features and common treatment of viral disease in humans. DNA and RNA viruses that infect the head and neck region are emphasized, and insights into the importance of vaccination and early treatment is provided.
