This module consists of lectures offered by the Division of Oral Diagnosis, Oral Medicine and Oral Radiology through the Oral Medicine Externship Program. This course is designed to introduce and prepare dentists to better understand the importance of the diagnostic process in proper patient evaluation. Emphasis is on the use of an organized sequential approach for the acquisition of the medical history, dental history, social history and family history, the clinical examination, and oral cancer screening. The importance of checklists, use of biological information and imaging are emphasized.
