Biosketch- Dr. Michael Collins

Dr. Collins received his veterinary degree from the University of Minnesota and a PhD in microbiology from the University of Georgia. He is presently Professor Emeritus in the department of Pathobiological Sciences, School of Veterinary Medicine University of Wisconsin-Madison. Since the early 1980s Johne's disease has been the focus of his research. Dr. Collins has numerous scientific and lay publications on Johne's disease and served as president of the International Association for Paratuberculosis for over 10 years. He is the principle author of Johne’s information Center website http://johnes.org. Over his academic career Dr. Collins has taken four year-long sabbaticals for study in Denmark, Australia, The Netherlands and most recently in Chile as Fulbright Scholar.
